Strawberry-Asparagus Salad with Basil and Balsamic Dressing

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into pieces

1 pound strawberries, quartered
4-6 basil leaves, torn into pieces
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar, any variety (try a balsamic glaze for a sweeter taste)
1/4 cup nuts, chopped, such as walnuts, pecans, pistachio or pine nuts (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Roast asparagus for 10-15 minutes. Let cool. Place asparagus in bowl. Add strawberries, basil and nuts. Mix together oil and vinegar.  
3. Toss salad ingredients together with oil and vinegar. Enjoy!

Tip:  Hull a strawberry with a straw by placing the straw at the bottom of the strawberry, gently push straw until the green leaves pop off!
