The dog days of summer inspire us to search for cool menus.  Love those cold soups, salads and cold drinks.  Lighter meals are easy to take out onto the porch or deck for al fresco meal. Many recipes are no-cook, keeping the kitchen from heating up. So many meals can use the fresh produce available to us in the summer. All these recipes are simple and easy to prepare, giving you lots of time outdoors.

Here is a list of some of our favorite summer recipes. Click the title to go to the recipe on our website. And enjoy the wonderful summer days ahead!

Gila Green. WhiteZion.jpg

Gila Green said, “My stories are about everyday people tackling immigration, racism, colonialism, occupation, alienation, war, politics, abuse, romance, poverty, terrorism, and survival.”

Her writing is wonderfully evocative, with much revealed in her characters and plot and in their lives’ difficulties. I was drawn in immediately and thought to myself, “Gila is a serious writer.”

She’s on my list to follow.
