Aye, there's the rub!
Free Spice Rub Recipe
We're not sure if Shakespeare was thinking about
cooking when he wrote Hamlet, but we figure he would
have loved this spicy mix!
This rub is so versatile--great on vegetables, fish,
poultry and beef. We love it on sliced and roasted potatoes.
Now that summer is here, try the rub on grilled or baked
fish such as cod, corvino, salmon or mahi mahi. Makes
your mouth water when added to grilled poultry or steaks.
The rub also makes a great gift. Tie a gift card on
the side of a recycyled or new glass container and place a
label on it. It’s always a good idea to include the ingredients
for the lucky recipient. This is a gift that will be very
appreciated and used.
Spice Rub:
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1½ teaspoon granulated garlic
1½ teaspoon granulated onion
1 teaspoon ground coriander
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon ground red pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
1. In a spice grinder or small food
processor, grind the thyme and rosemary. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix together.
2. Store in a closed jar. You can multiply this recipe as needed and increase or diminish the pepper according to taste.
Substitution
ALLIUM FREE: Omit garlic and onion. Add 1 teaspoon dried basil.
