When Chef Lisa caters a meal in a home, she goes to the table and presents the menu. So why not, when you are entertaining in your own place, come up with a cute menu card or make an announcement about the menu. All of a sudden, somehow there’s a little extra time and love that was spent on creating the meal. You feel very welcome and appreciative of the food. It’s more fun. Even if you don’t like to cook, you are having a good time, enjoying the company and making your meal a memorable experience.

What do you do when people come over?  Have a tray of drinks ready, from cold to hot. Have easy hor d’oevres in the refrigerator to put out when the doorbell rings. Makes your guests feel instantly at ease.

Try to make as much as possible ahead of time—either the day before or in advance of the arrival of your guests. Set the table or get the paper plates all ready.  Then have a great time with family and friends. Enjoy the holidays of lights, and your family and friends!
